The Norwegian Buhund originated in Norway. A typical Spitz type of dog of under middle size, lightly and squarely built with a short, compact body, fairly smooth-lying coat, erect, pointed ears, tail carried curled over the back, and with an intelligent, courageous, energetic character. They are well balanced and capable of arduous work.
