These dogs typify the ideal Terrier type. More popular
than their smooth relatives, Wire Fox Terriers did not appear in show
rings until the 1870's. They were fashionable in the 1930's, then
went out of favor until recently when they re-emerged as a "classic"
English breed. These dogs are not easy to train and can be willful.
They enjoy digging, one of the instinctive traits of this breed. They
are good with children when raised with them from puppyhood. They
weigh 13 to 20 lbs. and stand 13-16" at the shoulders. |
